Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Redway

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning 14 miles from Redway, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:46 a.m. PST at a depth of 16.2 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 17 miles from Rio Dell, 19 miles from Hydesville, 36 miles from Eureka and 178 miles from Sacramento.
In the past 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
