‘Sayonara’s’ Future: Will “Sayonara,” a costly new musical scheduled for June 5-23 by Pasadena-based California Music Theatre, open as planned? Gary Davis, artistic director of the financially strapped group, denied a published report Wednesday that the postponement was definite, but did say that if the show eventually is postponed, a replacement will be staged on the same dates. Meanwhile, the previously announced Henry Mancini will not be featured at an April 28 CMT fund-raiser, which will now present actors from previous CMT productions singing show tunes.
