El Monte : Fire Services Panel
People interested in serving on a citizen’s committee investigating possible consolidation of the Fire Department with county firefighting services have until April 23 to notify the city administrative office of their interest.
The consolidation is being explored as a possible money-saving measure.
The committee will consist of 20 members, 10 appointed by the City Council, two appointed by union members of the Fire Department, two appointed by Fire Department administrators and six at-large members.
Names of the at-large members will be drawn at random at the April 23 council meeting from all names registered in the city administrative office by that date.
