Brown’s Complaints
Assembly Speaker Willie Brown’s (D-San Francisco) arguments that criticisms of him and inquiries into his business and political actions are racially motivated are ridiculous (Part A, April 3). He knows it and anyone who knows him knows it. But he loves to play games and in effect he is saying “don’t bother me.”
Willie Brown is one of the most brilliant, creative, articulate persons in and out of government in California.
Why he wastes himself in partisan politics is beyond my understanding. It is certainly not for the money, so it must be for the kicks he gets out of what he does and how he does it.
So Willie, come out of your shell. There is a lot of important work that needs to be done in America. It needs your talent and no one will look at the color of your skin.
