Dan Garcia, a former president of the Los Angeles Planning Commission, was named to the newly created post of senior vice president for real estate planning and public affairs at Warner Bros., the Burbank-based entertainment unit of Time Warner Inc. The appointment is effective Sept. 1.
In addition to serving on the Planning Commission from 1978 to 1988, Garcia was a member of the Los Angeles City Police Commission in the mid-1970s and more recently was a partner at the Los Angeles law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson.
