Illinois basketball player Deon Thomas has filed suit against Bruce Pearl, an Iowa assistant coach, over tape-recorded telephone conversations that prompted an NCAA investigation of the Illini basketball program.
Thomas, seeking damages of more than $25,000, alleges Pearl’s disclosure of the conversations invaded Thomas’ privacy and hurt his reputation.
