Medal fest: Scott Wester of Huntington Beach and the Golden West Swim Club finished his part in the Festival with a loss--second to Brian Jacobson of Downey in the 100-meter freestyle--but it was hardly a lost Festival.

Wester wound up with six medals: three gold, two silver and a bronze. He also won the 50 freestyle Saturday, beating Jacobson in the process; the 200 freestyle Sunday; swam on the South’s winning 800 freestyle relay and contributed legs to the runner-up 400 medley relay and the third-place 400 freestyle relay.
