U.S. Water Polo Team Defeats Romania, 9-5

The U.S. water polo team at the World University Games defeated Romania, 9-5, in its first game of the competition, Monday in Sheffield, England.
Alex Rousseau of UCLA and Kirk Everist of California each scored three goals for the U.S. team, which is led by UC Irvine Coach Ted Newland. Irvine’s Steve Gill also scored a goal.
