Trailing, 12-6, after the first two matches, Jimmy Connors helped the Strings rally to defeat the New Jersey Stars, 24-19, in a TeamTennis match at Hershey, Pa. Connors and John Lloyd defeated Leif Shiras and Larry Stefanki, 6-2, in men’s doubles, and Connors won his singles match, 6-1, over Shiras and Stefanki. Stefanki replaced Shiras with the score 3-0. Lloyd and Robin White clinched the victory by beating Stefanki and Renee Stubbs, 6-4, in mixed doubles.
