Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Entertainer Accused of Starving His Cats

An animal rights group charged that Dominique Lefort, an entertainer at Disney World near Orlando, Fla., starves his house cats to make them jump through flaming hoops. Lefort replied that feeding the cats before a performance would make them sluggish. Disney World executives said they would review the show but had no intention of canceling it. After an earlier complaint, the state’s attorney’s office ruled that Lefort took excellent care of the cats.
