After looking forward to watching Wimbledon tennis on television--so much so, that I subscribed to HBO--what do I get? John McEnroe! McEnroe matches, McEnroe reruns of the matches, McEnroe tantrums.
NBC’s coverage looked more like “Inside Wimbledon” when it aired Martina Navratilova’s personal problems. Then, of course, there was Bud (Cliches Ad Nauseam) Collins humming his favorite tune about that Vindictive Veteran, Malicious John McEnroe.
Thank God for Fred Stolle and Cliff Drysdale on ESPN.
