NCNB and C&S-Sovran; Deal Reported: A merger accord between NCNB Corp. and C&S-Sovran; Corp., which would form the nation’s third-largest banking company, is to be announced today, the Charlotte, N.C., television station WBTV reported in a story produced with the Business Journal of Charlotte. The firms, with combined assets of $116.5 billion, have been negotiating since June 25. An NCNB spokesman declined to comment on the report.
