Birth of a Channel: A national television network for new parents was born Tuesday. The Newborn Channel, which is free to both hospitals and their patients, broadcasts educational programming directly to new parents in their hospital rooms 24 hours a day. Programming covers the essentials of infant and postpartum care and child development. The channel is based in New York.
