COMMUNITY COLLEGE SOCCER ROUNDUP : Victory Over Riverside Moves OCC Into Third

Sergio Suarez scored in the first half and goalkeeper Satoshi Funatsu stopped 18 shots to lead Orange Coast to a 1-0 victory over Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer match Tuesday at Riverside.
The victory moved Orange Coast (10-6-1, 7-4-0) into a tie for third with Riverside (9-4-4, 6-3-2) with one regular-season match remaining.
In other Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Fullerton 0, Irvine Valley 0--The tie kept both teams in a first-place tie, one point ahead of OCC and Riverside. Goalkeeper Fernando Santizo had six saves in his eighth shutout of the season for Fullerton (10-4-6, 6-2-3). Matt Levin had six saves for Irvine Valley (11-4-5, 6-3-3).
Golden West 3, Rancho Santiago 2--Christopher Siok scored two goals, including the game-winner with nine minutes remaining, to lift Golden West 6-11-3, 2-7-2) to an upset over Rancho Santiago (9-5-3, 4-4-3).
In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:
Irvine Valley 5, Palomar 0--Renee Cano scored two goals for host Irvine Valley (8-6-1, 7-4), which clinched second place with the victory.
