NATIONAL CITY : Car Hits, Kills Woman in Street

A Spring Valley woman was hit and killed by a car as she tried to walk across a National City street Wednesday evening, a police spokesman said.
Marciana Castillo, 56, was hit as she crossed east 8th Street at 5:37 p.m. and died at the scene, officials said.
Castillo, an administrative secretary, was crossing from the middle of the block, 100 feet west of Burden Avenue, and was hit by a car driven by Marianne Creencia, 27, of San Diego, officials said. Creencia was questioned by police and released, the police spokesman said.
