ANTELOPE VALLEY : Extra Bags of Leaves to Be Collected Free
- Share via
The cities of Lancaster and Palmdale have made arrangements with waste disposal companies to collect extra bags of leaves from residents for free.
During the next three weeks, Lancaster residents with more than two bags of leaves can call their regular waste hauler--Waste Management Inc. or A.V. Rubbish--to arrange for pickups, city officials said.
Also, a “leaf bailer” will be dispatched in Lancaster neighborhoods on regularly scheduled street sweeping days to collect unbagged leaves raked into gutters by residents.
Due to its size, the bailer does not function in cul-de-sacs.
During Palmdale’s annual Fall Pride week, beginning Monday and running through Friday, Palmdale Disposal Co. will collect up to four cubic yards of leaves and rubbish from current customers within the city limits during its regularly scheduled pickups.
