The CIF State Federated Council vote on three action items Friday went the way of the Southern Section vote in San Jose.
The State Federated Council, made up of officials from the state’s 10 sections, voted in favor of the three-man officiating crews for regional and state final basketball playoff games and against the proposal for football bowl games and a Southern California soccer invitational.
The bowl game proposal was resoundingly defeated, never making it past a voice vote. The soccer invitational proposal was shot down, 65-39. The three-man officiating crew proposal, which was passed by a 81-23 vote, will take effect with the upcoming basketball season.
The Southern Section, the largest of the 10 sections accounted for 26 of 104 state votes.
