Injuries to key players who had to leave NFL games on Sunday:
* Dan Marino, Miami--Quarterback suffered a sprained left ankle in first half against Buffalo and came out of game early in the third quarter.
* Stan Humphries, San Diego--Quarterback suffered his second concussion in three weeks and was taken off the field on a stretcher following an illegal hit by Cincinnati’s Reinard Wilson.
* Paul Justin, Indianapolis--Quarterback dislocated a finger in his left hand when he was tackled late in the first quarter against Tampa Bay.
* Jeff George, Oakland--Quarterback left the gamewith 5:06 left after getting bent over backwards on a sack by Carolina’s Renaldo Turnbull, who was called for being offsides. He suffered bruised left ribs.
* Emmitt Smith, Dallas--Running back suffered a strained left groin in the second quarter against San Francisco and did not return.
* Tshimanga Biakabutuka, Carolina--Running back left five plays into the game against Oakland with bruised ribs.
* Korey Stringer, Minnesota--Tackle suffered lower back strain in third quarter against New England.
* Zefross Moss, New England--Suffered lower back strain in the second quarter against Minnesota.
* Mike Bartrum, New England--Long snapper broke his left forearm against Minnesota, an injury that proved costly when backup Heath Irwin bounced the snap on the botched extra point attempt after Shawn Jefferson’s fourth-quarter touchdown moved the Patriots to 16-9.
* John Thierry, Chicago--Defensive lineman ruptured a ligament in his left knee in the second quarter against Washington and is out for the rest of the season.
* Ki-Jana Carter, Cincinnati--Running back, already hampered by a torn rotator cuff, sprained his left ankle against San Diego.
