Nichole Thompson, a second baseman who helped Woodbridge win the Southern Section Division II softball title, has made an oral commitment to attend Arizona State.
“I liked the weather, the coach and the girls, and the campus is just beautiful,” said Thompson, who said she wanted to stay in the West.

Thompson batted .445, scored 30 runs and drove in 16.
