SMALL FACES: With his “MTV Unplugged” special set to debut on the cable channel on Nov. 25, Babyface is mixing the album drawn from the performance for release on the same day. . . .

Keeping with the theme of its album “Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating in Space,” Spiritualized, which will be at the Palace on Wednesday, is planning two elevated stunts, with performances set for the top of the Sears Roebuck Building in Chicago on Nov. 21 and on a date to be determined on Toronto’s CN Tower (the tallest structure in North America). The group’s “I Think I’m in Love,” remixed by the Chemical Brothers, is now being sent to radio. . . .

Half of Bruce Springsteen’s old E Street Band recently reunited when keyboardist Danny Federici was joined on his solo debut album, “Flemington,” by bassist Garry Tallent and guitarist Nils Lofgren. It’s due Tuesday. . . .

Prog-rockers Yes, always an audiophile favorite, will release a special edition of its upcoming “Open Your Eyes” album featuring the first music CD use of a “surround sound” process designed for Dolby ProLogic home theater systems.
