Pacific Coast Highway

* I was glad to read that Caltrans (Oct. 30) completed its stabilization project above Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades. It seems typical of a government bureaucracy to send 4,000 truckloads of dirt 20 miles north to Kanan Dume Road when there is a landfill project 1/4 mile away.
Why not save fuel costs and reduce air pollution. Leave Palisades dirt in the Palisades. I’m sure that Malibu has a sufficient supply of its own dirt!
