Hancock 35, Ventura 28--Greg Payne returned a punt 77 yards for a tie-breaking touchdown in the fourth quarter of a WSC Northern Division game at Ventura High.
Hancock (6-2, 3-0) tied the game, 28-28, in the fourth quarter on a 60-yard pass play from Jeff McCoy to Matt Olney.
Patrick Bartley of Ventura (1-7, 1-2) completed eight of 27 passes for 124 yards and four touchdowns but had two passes intercepted.
Brandon Scott of Ventura rushed for 82 yards in 18 carries, raising his season total to 1,064.
