No. 6 Fountain Valley (7-2, 3-1) vs. No. 5 Esperanza (7-2, 4-0)
7 P.M. FRIDAY VALENCIA HIGH
Each team has qualified for the playoffs, but this game will still answer a key question: Can Esperanza win its second outright league championship in three years? A Fountain Valley victory would force the Aztecs to share the title for the second year in a row. Expect the offenses to dictate the outcome. Fountain Valley might be missing its top point producer; running back John Sanders (19 touchdowns) is questionable due to an injured left leg. Esperanza’s backfield duties are well defined: Brent Garrison gets the yards and Jamie Smith gets the touchdowns.
