Golden West Rolls Along

Jill Waltemeyer had eight kills as Golden West defeated visiting Santa Ana in three games in Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball Wednesday.

The Rustlers, ranked No. 1 in the state, won, 15-2, 15-5, 15-9.

Golden West (18-1, 10-1) remains tied for first in conference with Saddleback.

In other conference matches:

Cypress 3, Irvine Valley 0--Kelly Fleischman and Amy Rummel each had nine kills for Cypress (9-7, 5-6), which won, 15-3, 15-12, 15-5.

Amanda Martinez had seven kills for Irvine Valley (6-10, 3-8).

Orange Coast 3, Riverside 1--Jen Fish had 21 kills in Orange Coast’s 15-6, 5-15, 15-8, 15-13 victory. The Pirates are 13-5, 8-3.

Saddleback 3, Fullerton 0--Whitney Uhl had 11 kills and Gina Stivers had nine in the 15-4, 15-6, 15-1 victory for Saddleback (15-3, 10-1). Fullerton is 2-16, 0-11.
