Brown and Colvin to Perform at Benefit

Singers Jackson Brown and Shawn Colvin will perform at the El Rey Theater next Friday in a benefit for Independent Feature Project/West’s Project: Involve and the Nica Rogers Scholarship Fund.
Director Allison Anders will host the 7:30 p.m. event, and additional performers include Michael Landau and Larry Klein.
Project Involve is a mentorship program to help women from culturally diverse backgrounds gain access to the film industry; the Nica Rogers Scholarship Fund, administered by El Centro del Pueblo, was established by Anders in 1992 to honor a woman who died during the filming of Anders’ movie “Mi Vida Loca.”
