Platinum Software Buy

IRVINE — Platinum Software Corp. plans to complete its acquisition today of privately held FocusSoft Inc. of Louisville, Ky., for about $27 million in stock, part of Platinum’s strategy of expanding through acquisitions.
FocusSoft makes distribution and management software for electronics and cable manufacturers, among others. The firm has about 40 employees.
In July, Platinum, which makes accounting software, acquired Clientele Software Inc. for about $11 million in stock. Clientele, based in Portland, Ore., makes software that helps companies automate their customer service and personnel departments.
