Clipper rookie forward Maurice Taylor missed Thursday night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks after his grandmother was seriously injured in a high-speed police chase in Detroit on Wednesday night.
Coach Bill Fitch said Taylor, the Clippers’ first round draft pick from Michigan, flew to Detroit Thursday morning after his grandmother was hospitalized in critical condition.
Taylor, who shot a team-best 63.6% in the Clippers’ first six games, could join the team during a four-game trip, which begins in Charlotte on Saturday night.

Fitch said he’s unsure when forward Loy Vaught, a reserve for the last three games after jamming his right big toe, will return to the starting lineup.
“When he gets back and is at the top of his game and we’re playing someone where we matchup better [Vaught will start],” Fitch said.
