Dos Pueblos 21, Oxnard 14--Needing a victory to clinch the league championship, Oxnard couldn’t come through.
Nohel Corral’s three-yard touchdown with 5:48 to play lifted Dos Pueblos (7-3, 5-2) to victory over the Yellowjackets (7-2-1, 5-1-1) at San Marcos High.
Leading 14-0 late in the first quarter, Oxnard lost two fumbles before halftime, leading to 14 Dos Pueblos points and a halftime tie.
Oxnard scored on its first two possessions.
Adrian Maciel led the Yellowjackets on a 66-yard drive and scored on a three-yard run for a 7-0 lead.
Desmond Davis, who rushed 14 times for 147 yards, scored his only touchdown midway through the first quarter when he broke three tackles and ran 90 yards for a 14-0 lead.
The Oxnard defense recorded five sacks, two each by Junior Taufi and Chad Pierson, who also carried nine times for 74 yards.
