Focus Missing, Eagles Lose League Finale

It was hard for Capistrano Valley Christian’s Steven Armstrong to concentrate on football, because his younger brother, David, has cancer.
But play Armstrong did.
Unfortunately, the Eagles lost to Bloomington Christian, 54-26, in a Victory League game Friday night at Laguna Beach High.
“We dedicated the game to Steven,” Eagle Coach Keith Patefield said.
Junior running back Carlette Moore rushed for 138 yards in 15 carries and a touchdown for Bloomington Christian.
Ryan Pope rushed 16 times for 73 yards, scored once, had two two-point conversion runs, and intercepted a pass for the Ravens (8-2, 6-1).
Bloomington Christian quarterback Justin Castilo threw two touchdown passes to Joshua Sterns, ran for a score and returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown.
Capistrano Valley Christian (4-6, 4-3) was led by Ryan Allen, who rushed 10 times for 62 yards and scored on a 44-yard run. He caught four passes for 162 yards and scored on touchdowns measuring, 25, 60 and 65 yards.
