Kudos for Spitzer

* Hurrah for Supervisor Todd Spitzer (“Spitzer Shakes Up County With Aggressive Approach,” Nov. 4). At least we have one voice for good decision making.

Compared with the arrogant backslappers who previously ran county government, Spitzer is a breath of fresh air. I can’t wait for a majority of reformers to join Spitzer on the board. Then we will go after real corruption and bad public policies that have plagued this pathetic county for too long.

Many problems still exist, such as land-use influence peddling, procurement fraud, campaign finance reform, and poor public access to information and participation in the process.

* Once in a while an individual comes along who has the qualities we seek in a leader. Rarely, in my experience within government and civic affairs, have I encountered a man with such tremendous drive and willingness to help people as Todd Spitzer.

As a private citizen, whether as a police reserve officer or as a teacher, Spitzer has aided countless individuals. Your story was a good profile of the man. Spitzer is the last one who needs a lot of has-beens telling him what to say or how to act.
