City Council members will meet in closed session Monday to begin reviewing applications for the vacant city manager position.
Oxnard officials would not disclose the identities or backgrounds of applicants, but said nine finalists have been selected by an executive search firm that reviewed 33 resumes. Lino Corona, the city’s personnel manager, said all the finalists have government backgrounds and applied from across the nation.
Corona said it will be a couple months before council members settle on a replacement for City Manager Tom Frutchey, who was fired nearly 10 months ago.
“If everything goes well, we hope to have someone by the middle of January or by February,” Corona said.
