In other Southern Section Division XI games:
Mira Costa 44, Montclair Prep 6--Quarterback Robert Hodge picked apart Montclair Prep’s defense, throwing touchdown passes of nine, 17 and 10 yards for host Mira Costa (9-2).
Hodge was 11 of 24 for 150 yards and one interception.
Montclair Prep closed to within, 21-6, at the start of the second quarter when Carlease Clark returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown.
But the Mounties (5-3-1) could do little offensively. With leading rusher Robert Bowens out with an injured knee suffered in last week’s game, Montclair Prep turned to Kevin Bentley, who was limited to just 37 yards in nine carries.
Montclair Prep twice drove deep into Mira Costa territory in third quarter, but turned the ball over on both occasions.
Mira Costa’s Mike Enos returned a Joe Tatum pass 56 yards for a touchdown and threw a 37-yard scoring strike.
