In other Southern Section Division XI games:
Carpinteria 7, Santa Paula 3--Jason Requejo batted down a fourth-down pass by Santa Paula quarterback Willie Zavala in the end zone with three minutes to play that helped preserve the victory at Carpinteria Middle School.
On fourth-and-16 at the Carpinteria 25, Zavala tried to connect with Mike Kolbeck, but Requejo broke it up.
Carpinteria (8-3) took a 7-3 lead on a 14-yard scoring pass from Matt Paradis to Ben Scott with three minutes to play in the first half.
Zavala kicked a 25-yard field goal early in the second quarter to put Santa Paula (4-7) up 3-0.
