In other Southern Section Division XI games:
Yucca Valley 27, Village Christian 7--The Crusaders’ vaunted rushing attack, which was averaging 202 yards a game, was limited to just 62 yards at Yucca Valley.
Running back David Romberger, which entered the game with 1,466 yards and 20 touchdowns, was limited to just 42 yards in 20 carries.
Village Christian added 62 yards passing, finishing with just 124 yards total offense.
The Crusaders tied it, 7-7, on Jeff Johnston’s one-yard run, capping a six-minute, 61-yard drive.
