Yes, operetta is gaining respect (“More Muscle Than Fluff,” by Jan Breslauer, Nov. 16), and just as our local stages are welcoming “Countess Maritza,” “The Mikado” and “The Pirates of Penzance,” a group has been formed to explore, enjoy and support the world of operetta.
Such speakers as operetta’s foremost authority, Richard Traubner, and premier collector Michael Miller share their knowledge with us. And we journey to heaven every meeting to the beguiling strains of Lehar and Kalman and their fellow immortals.
