To commemorate World AIDS Day on Monday, Placentia Presbyterian Church will display part of the AIDS Memorial Quilt from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
The quilt section, on loan through Names Project Orange County, includes panels made in remembrance of people worldwide who have died of AIDS.
Clairee Tynes, a co-founder of People with Aids and Others, said each quilt panel “represents the intangible bonds of love that will forever bind those persons commemorated in the quilt with those who created it and with those of us who experience its impact.”
The support group created its own memorial banner, which is carried in parades and shown at exhibits. Representatives from the group will be on hand at the event to answer questions.
The church is at 849 N. Bradford Ave. Information about the support group: (714) 528-2973 or Ellie Brown, (714) 998-3243.
