The NCAA record for most points in a game is 186 by Loyola Marymount in 1991.
Jones, the leading scorer in Division I last season, made 21 of 27 shots as the Blackbirds set an NCAA record by making 76 field goals. LIU also set a record with 39 steals.
Richie Parker added 26 points for LIU (2-2) and Karee Anderson added 25.
The Blackbirds, who shot 61% from the field, scored 98 points in the second half.
