Robles Lawsuit

Re “Public Turns Against Dead Girls’ Mother,” Nov. 21, which concerns the lawsuit filed by Jackie Robles against Metrolink:
In this “sue-happy” society, the lawsuit is not really a surprise. I believe it is a fair question to raise: Did Robles look for a lawyer or did her lawyer seek her out and suggest a lawsuit? What is the contingency fee arrangement? Her lawyer is “chuckling” and claims to have a “slam-dunk winner of a case,” and ignores the costs to all of us of too many unfair lawsuits, nuisance lawsuits and frivolous lawsuits in his pursuit of his share of an award or settlement.
We all pay more in taxes, insurance premiums, for all goods and services and in various other ways of the current legal system. And the fear of being sued hurts us all as some potential targets try to protect themselves.
