By winning on the road against Villa Park, 31-13, Newport Harbor gets a home game against fourth-seeded Kennedy. Brett Baker continues to be impressive. Though Steve Gorman didn’t throw for big numbers against the Spartans, he completed six of eight passes and put the game away with a late scoring pass. Kennedy also relies heavily on a single back, Joe Magallanes, who averaged 23 carries for 89 yards. The Sailors have been streaky: five victories, two losses and a four-game winning streak. A fifth victory gets them to the semifinals for the fifth consecutive year.
