Saints Sign Guard Davis

Three days after being cut by the San Diego Chargers, guard Isaac Davis was signed by the New Orleans Saints on Friday.
The 320-pound Davis started the first 12 regular-season games for the Chargers, then was cut. Coach Kevin Gilbride did not give a reason.
Davis was called for three false-start penalties against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. He has had eight false-start calls in 12 games.
Davis, a second-round draft choice for the Chargers in 1994, will be a free agent in February.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived special teams player Kenny Gant and filled his roster spot by signing receiver Brice Hunter from the practice squad.
The move was prompted because of an ankle injury to receiver Horace Copeland, sustained during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
