Diversity Is Topic of Cal Lutheran Talk
How to ensure ethnic diversity in colleges’ entering classes despite a trend against affirmative action is a question to be addressed in a lecture later this month at Cal Lutheran University.
Raymund Paredes, associate vice chancellor of UCLA, will discuss “Merit and the SAT: Who Should Be Admitted to College?”
“We thought it would be good to have someone come talk to us about the implications of rethinking our admission policy,” said Carol Bartell, dean of the Cal Lutheran School of Education. “We are concerned about diversifying our student population and we have a responsibility to look at our own admissions.”
The lecture will be April 20 at 7 p.m. in the university’s Samuelson Chapel. For more information, call 493-3420.
