The Beverly Hills Police Department is offering crime-awareness courses as part of its Neighborhood Watch program.
The classes will discuss crime statistics for 18 specific neighborhoods and issues such as stalking, carjacking and personal defense, said Officer Carlos Pinho.
Residents will be notified by mail of the date when their area is scheduled to be discussed.
About 2,000 people participate in the city’s Neighborhood Watch program, Pinho said. Most of the city’s crimes occur along major thoroughfares such as Santa Monica and La Cienega boulevards, he added.
The meetings will be held 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights in the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Emergency Operations Center, 464 N. Rexford Drive. For information call, (310) 285-2133.
