A judge set bail at $250,000 Wednesday for three men accused of kidnapping and beating a man and woman in Huntington Beach.
Gabriel Villalobos, 21, and Joseph Davis, 27, both of Long Beach, and Justin LaValley, 18, of Orange, are charged with kidnapping, conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon.
A fourth man arrested in the plot, Justin Nguyen, 23, of Huntington Beach, did not appear in court Wednesday.
The four were arrested Monday after police heard yelling from a building on Repair Lane and saw a person being forced inside, prosecutors said. Police surrounded the building and found the two victims, who were not immediately identified. The man had a broken arm and the woman had facial lacerations, investigators said.
The motive appeared to be robbery, police said.
