Three Cubans Swim Ashore at N. Key Largo

Three Cubans swam about two miles to shore on North Key Largo after jumping from their wooden boat and refusing help from the U.S. Coast Guard. Cubans who reach U.S. soil generally are allowed to stay, while those intercepted at sea are repatriated.
