3 Arrests May End in Deportation

Federal agents arrested three illegal immigrant pedophiles in Santa Ana on Wednesday for crimes that make them eligible for deportation, officials said.
The names of those arrested were not released, but authorities said that the three had been convicted of crimes including lewd acts with a child under 14, soliciting a lewd act and sexual battery.
“If a sexual predator is also an alien with no right to remain in the United States, we will use all of our available enforcement resources to remove that person from this country,” said John Brechtel, associate special agent-in-charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Orange County.
The arrests Wednesday were part of “Operation Predator,” launched July 9 by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
It focuses on protecting children from pornographers, prostitution rings and other criminals.
There have been about 600 arrests nationwide.
