A man arrested last week after a police pursuit ended with officers firing into his car on a busy Hollywood street pleaded not guilty Wednesday to several felony charges.
Edwin Quintanilla, 30, of North Hollywood faces five counts, including carrying a loaded firearm with a prior conviction, evading an officer and assaulting an officer. He was being held in lieu of $160,000 bond.
No one was injured in the incident, which began Friday afternoon when police responded to a domestic violence call at a North Hollywood parking lot.
The chase ended on Santa Monica Boulevard near the Hollywood Freeway when the driver became trapped in traffic, then allegedly backed into officers who fired at least two shots into the vehicle.
