The New Jersey Trilogy: Numerous unnerving notes sound in the Rude Guerrilla Theater Company’s production of Ken Urban’s trio of plays that examine premillennial American dysfunction through Garden State glasses, darkly. In the process, the plays become a caustic picture of immense postmillennial pertinence, regardless of locale. The opener, “I {heart} KANT,” sets the tone. Weaving Y2K paranoia, tabloid tactics and Grecian commentary into a latter-day Everyman pageant, Urban achieves outrageous symbiosis. The execution is seamless, with Sean T. Cawelti’s puppets especially incisive. Dave Barton directs and designs.
