Intel Again Revises Revenue Forecast
Intel Corp. said it expected third-quarter revenue to be between $7.6 billion and $7.8 billion, shaving off the lower end of the estimate it gave two weeks ago.
Demand for the Santa Clara, Calif., company’s chips, which account for 80% of the microprocessors inside PCs, remains strong. On Aug. 22, Intel unexpectedly raised its revenue forecast for the quarter ending Sept. 27 to $7.3 billion to $7.8 billion -- up from $6.9 billion to $7.5 billion -- thanks to stronger demand for computers, cell phones and other devices.
