From Times Wire Reports
The City Council has approved plans for the first six-story building in downtown Oceanside.
The $26-million Oceanside Terraces project will include underground parking, shops, restaurants, offices and four stories of condominiums.
Opponents have objected to construction of buildings taller than nearby structures.
But supporters said the new 85-foot-tall building would be only 10 feet taller than an adjacent movie theater building.
