* The average rate on 30-year mortgages fell to 6.01% for the week ended Friday, from 6.16% the week before, Freddie Mac said. For 15-year fixed-rate mortgages, the rate was 5.30%, down from 5.46%. Rates for one-year adjustable mortgages was 3.81%, down from 3.87%.
* The California Department of Consumer Affairs has updated “California Tenants: A Guide to Residential Tenants’ and Landlords’ Rights and Responsibilities” to include significant law changes. The booklet can be viewed and printed free at www.dca.ca.gov.
